Commissioned pieces are closely based upon existing models of the workshop, with the addition of bespoke details. These made to order details can encompass solely decorative aspects, such as alternative dials or cases with personalized designs or engraving, or might include the addition of certain basic functions to the existing caliber such as a moon phase or date indicator.

More simple commissions might cover specific combinations of blued and gold hands on the same dial, the chapter ring in a different metal or with a different style of numerals, special engraving of the movement, or even partial skeletonization. The preliminary studies below outline some of these design elements. Unlike Unique pieces in which a new watch is created starting with a blank piece of paper, a Commissioned piece is always a 'variation on a theme' utilizing a base caliber, dial and case produced by the workshop as a starting point.
